Karachi Paused! On MQM Request
KARACHI: Business and routine issues in the port city were at a stop on Sunday as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) watched a 'dark day' over the "Muhajir" debate raised by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) pioneer Syed Khursheed Shah.
Practically all petrol pumps in the city were cut off and open transport was the streets. Karachi University likewise advertised the deferment of all examinations planned for the day.
The MQM said late Saturday night that it would hold an exhibit at the Sharae Quaideen-Sharae Faisal crossing point at 3pm on Sunday (today).
The party's supremo, Altaf Hussain, engaged dealers and transporters to keep their organizations close and not to bring their vehicles on streets to backing the "tranquil" dark day.
Talking at a public interview at the party's central station 'Nine Zero', MQM pioneer Abdul Haseeb said dark banners would be raised at all gathering business locales the nation over, including that October 17, 2014, was the "most appalling day ever" given that the pioneer of the resistance in the National Assembly termed "Muhajir" a questionable word no less than four times.
