KARACHI: A young person living in Malir area kicked the bucket of Naegleria fowleri on Thursday, taking the loss of life faulted for the 'mind consuming one-celled critter' to 12 in the territory, authorities said. 

She was the second female to bite the dust of Naegleria fowleri not long from now. Authorities said Humaira Bano, 25, was an inhabitant of Taiser Town in Malir locale. She had been admitted to a private doctor's facility a prior day she passed on.

"We have taken water examples supplied to the territory where she existed and sent them for examination," said Dr Zafar Ijaz, chief wellbeing, Karachi division.

Dr Ijaz said it was misty how Ms Bano came into contact with the savage one-celled critter. She basically stayed at home and like different past cases had no history of swimming — one of the key causes behind essential amoebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) or Naegleria fowleri.

"We have propelled further examinations to figure out how she came into contact with the one-celled critter," he included.

A 32-year-old lady inhabitant of Adamjee Nagar in Karachi-East was the last reported casualty of Naegleria.

So far none of the 12 victimized people, 11 in Karachi alone and one in Hyderabad, had a history of swimming, said the authority.

Casualties of Naegleria incorporate a 57-year-old man, the most seasoned in this way, and a nine-month-old young lady, the most youthful as of not long ago. The primary Naegleria-related casualty in the not so distant future was accounted for on May 27 in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.
