NEW DELHI: Gunmen attacked India's diplomatic building within the main western Afghan town of urban center Fri before being repelled by security forces, the foreign ministry in capital of India same.
“Earlier this morning, the Indian diplomatic building in urban center was attacked,” foreign ministry interpreter Syed Akbaruddin told the news channel NDTV.
“One gunman was shot by the ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police) whereas they were making an attempt to breach the diplomatic building,” he said, adding that Indian and Afghan security forces had been “successful in rebutting this attack”.
While there was no word from Asian country of United Nations agency was behind the attack, it comes days once incoming prime minister Narendra Modi invited Pakistan's premier Nawaz Sharif to his inauguration ceremony in Old Delhi next Mon.
India has antecedently defendant Pakistan's security services of being behind attacks on Asian countryn targets in Asian nation.
